TJ Cloutier and Tom McEvoy have won 8 world poker titles between the two of them, so it’s only natural that they are respected authors on the subject as well. McEvoy and Cloutier teamed-up to write “Championship No-Limit and Pot-Limit Hold’em”, which has gained much acclaim among poker players. Both share their thoughts and strategies along with colorful stories that both entertain and teach the reader.
Strategic concepts are solid in this book, with these two authors one would expect no less. Lots of other topics are covered as well, some topics that haven’t been discussed nearly as in-depth previous to this title, topics such as getting in your opponents head, beating opponents at their own game, setting up monster pots and strategies for winning satellites and super-satellites. The usual topics are covered as well: bluffs, no-limit tournament play, pot-limit tournament play and much more.
This book is directed towards players with previous hold’em knowledge, it is expected that players grasp concepts before putting them in action. These strategies are mostly designed to be used against very skilled opponents and most likely in the later stages of tournaments. That being said, this title is recommended for all players searching for advanced concepts to NL and PL hold’em.
